The fundamentals provide a strong foundation that’ll support your future learning. 5. I'm not a member of 10PNYC academy, but am I allowed to sign up for a seminar/event?
Yes, non-members are welcome to sign up for the seminars/events at our gym, such as our Grand Opening w/ Eddie Bravo, Freak Bros Seminar, PJ Barch Seminar, Miyao Bros NoGi Seminar, and more. 7. Are there showers at the academy?
Yes, we do have showers on the premises.
8. Do I have to purchase a uniform to train?
No, we don’t require students to purchase a uniform from us. However, we do ask students to bring a mouthguard, rashguard and grappling shorts for training. Spats/leggings are acceptable as well. AVOID baggy shorts with pockets or zippers and baggy t-shirts. Ladies, please remove your makeup before getting on the mats.
9. What are the 10PNYC academy rules/etiquette?
Since NoGi Jiu Jitsu is a contact sport, we need to uphold certain standards to ensure the hygiene of our gym. This means no bare feet or shoes off the mats. Students should keep their nails and toenails trimmed down and have a clean change of clothing for each class if they are planning on taking more than one class that same day. Don’t be the smelly guy!
